Orange growers in the Cuu Long (Mekong) Delta province of Hau Giang have had a bumper crop, harvesting 25-35 tonnes per ha, almost a tonne higher than the last crop.
Phan Van Nam, a farmer in Chau Thanh District, said he sold a kilogramme of the fruit for VND20,000 ($1), meaning his three-ha farm fetched $30,000.
The district is the main orange-growing area in the province, with 4,700ha of farms.
