  1. cool trees, great help as i have a japanese mountain maple, i also have a chinese elm and a carmona (fukien tea) these, i think are very rare so i am lucky t o have 1.
    ;-P

  2. Hi Charles, I would be very interested in seeing the progress of this tree if you have the time to make a video. And thanks for your great videos; they’re very much appreciated.

  3. Two strategies: 1) just let it grow until something grows that you like the shape of; or 2), train up the nearest side branch to the cut, repot the tree at an angle, and prune the cut back to just above the side branch so that the cut looks like a natural bend in the trunk. I think I’m going to shop the nurseries for a 5 gal prostrata or san jose juniper to do another beginner video.

  4. ok i just started out i have a juniper that the nursey has cut off the top of the trunk i just wana ask do i just let it grow for a while or…….

  5. In early spring, right when the new buds start to swell. Once the new leaves start to emerge, it is too late, so watch it carefully to catch the right moment.

  6. Just to add weight to the others who have asked: looking forward to seeing this after a little more growth. Especially after being gifted one for my birthday!

  7. i did but a gd pairs about 20 dollars online but i went 2 my local nursery and they said thaey might get some in november so il probaly wait 2 see if they do.

  8. Sorry, I haven’t had time to upload the original part 2, which is a short look at the tree after pruning is finished. We might reshoot it in the near future to show the tree after a little more growth.
