  1. @waverider931 That’s how I am doing it at the moment. I need to make a newer how to video. It also keeps the pinheads from drowning because with out the dirt to soak up the water it just makes a pool of water they die in.

  2. I take my pregnant females out and put them in a different tank that has dirt on the whole floor. that just gives them a larger space to lay eggs. that’s just how I do it

  3. How do you keep them from dying? I’ve tried a few times to start a small colony of crix but once one of them dies it puts out a chemical that causes the rest to die as well (or so I’ve heard)… So I check on em and make sure there are no dead ones and like a day or 2 later theyre all toast =(

  4. Hi I am currently trying to breed crickets, I have 3 big containers one with 10 females and 10 males and another with the rest of my crickets what I feed to my waterdragons. BUT they have been in their for 2 days now and I havent seen them laying any eggs! The temperature is about 28 degrees c and i’ve used forest bedding as substrate for them to lay their eggs in, can you tell me what im doing wrong???? cheers

  5. I do now. Um this was shot last summer and when winter came I had to figure something out. So, I build a stand and now have a light over each tub. During the winter I keep them on 24-7 but now I have them on a timer since it’s warmer. I might turn them off 24-7 until it get cooler again.

  6. @herp94 Yes you can but if you don’t kill any germs that are in the dirt they my end up in your reptile. Now, you can kill germs and other little bugs that might be in the dirt by placeing the dirt in the oven for a while. You have to look that up to make sure what temp. is best and time to keep it in. Good luck

  7. Thanks for the breeding cricket info. I will try that, I need some tiny pinhead crickets for my Indo-Pacific gecko hatchlings. Fruit flies are great however the pet store wants $6 for a small tube of them, and they die much quicker than crickets do.

  8. how many adult crickets should I put in one container that is about the same size as your baskets? So that they can lay eggs.

  9. they eat the fish food? xD yay haha I was worried about that one I have 3 packs of fish food left and I wanted to breed crickets cause im gething two geckos soon thanks so much for telling me they do you just saved me some cash xD

  10. @MaddyandMattReptiles Yes, during the cold months I use heat lamps for the adults, pinheads, and the eggs
