This is a video I made awhile back and just recently took the time to split and put onto YouTube. It’s a little outdated with some of the methods I use but is still a good base for anyone looking to start their own colony. One thing I want to point out is that I do not add juice to the water crystals anymore. They were accumulating mold too fast when I did that. Plain water is just fine.

How many roaches do I need to start acolony for feeding ONE beardy?
Canabalism, I never thoguht of that, i read about 50 guides and non ever said anything and i could not figure out why over 6 months I got a whole 10 more roaches. How can O get the protein in their diet up then? i’ve been using a combo of dog food and cricket diet…
new born babies to groe to a full adult?
Thankyou. This is very helpful. I am hoping to start my own colony this weekend.
anybody on here who can sell me extra small dubia in bulk? im asking for atleast 1,000. please let me know.
just they’re expensive as hell
do you mean crested dragons or geckos?
i got a crested gecko who’s just a few months old and he’s doing fine with the newborn roaches
a freshly hatched crested gecko might be too small tho
a crested dragon should do just fine…
+1 i got a great supply of them from him. very healthy and well fed when i got them.
substrate is not nessecary
sorry i meant peat not turf of course
nice vid but most of the stuff is totally unnecessary
i keep mine in a 30x20x20cm plastic terrarium with 1cm of really really dry turf and 2 egg cartons
i simply put the plastic terrarium on top of the light box of my pacman frog’s terrarium for warmth
no water/water crystals whatsoever, only oats & fresh salad twice a week, and never more than they eat in 2h
works like a charm (as you can see in my vid)
nice listening in background
can you feed the just born cockroaches to just born cresteds or are they too big?
What brand are the heaters you bought? I’m starting a colony and trying to find some decent heat pads online.
online. Look on my channel comments and click on the moose9900 account
