This is a very simple task. All you need are two or three small-leaved ivies, a 9-in (23-cm) pot or one that is slightly larger, and a 2 ft (60 cm) high frame, or six canes, and garden wire. It will take a few weeks for the shoots to cover the frame. Constant pinching out during the growing season will speed things up.
1 Plant the ivy, then unravel the stems. Next set up the frame, firmly fixing it in place. Use garden wire to create a criss-cross network
2 Gently thread and weave the long ivy shoots between the network of wires, so that they cover as much of the shape as possible. Evenly space them out.
