  1. baby locusts are called HOPPER. and the female can lay over 400,eggs
in only 30 days that means just 5000 females could give berth to 2million young in a month and there not a pain to farmers when small. but when they get to 80mm long and develope wings thats when they become a pain to farmers crops. in arabic the word locust translates as teeth of the wind. the biggest swarm ever was estimated at covering 5000 square kilometers

  2. i started breeding crickets it failed but now i got these tiny little baby locust in a pack of locust i bought and desided to keep them as pets and to breed them when older i have some water jelly stuff and cricket food also some cabage to eat the i had some aspen that had from my hamster for beding some plastic wire from roof of tub to climb on some card board heat i have put them on top of lizard tank for heat there is like a little block that gives of heat that was the lizards light beside

  3. I bought 20 locust and they are all female, i dont think that petstore sell males what now?

  4. yh but not as much as i would’ve hoped, there is a better way where you get 2 yoghurt pots full of wet sand under a heat lamp.

  5. its best not to, because they need to lay their eggs in them and the coco nut fibre may be a little too crumbly.

  6. heya mate justa wundering actually coz you use sand as the main substrate for them to lay eggs but can you use other substrate like coco fibre or any ther types ??

    cheers in advance
