  1. Thanks, just ordered a flightless fruit fly kit… Couldn’t find anything small enough to feed my froglets and one store offered to order me a kit. I’ll probably continue to breed them after the medium in that is used up, your method sounds cheaper.

  2. alright sweet.. dont think ma be buying or breeding these anytime soon.. i got cricket pin heads and i bread panther chameleons ambilobe. and i got 31 eggs right now and my other female is fixing to lay some more so im prob gonna have around 60 baby panther chameleons. so ima need this.. but thanks.. i subscribed.. keep the vids coming

  3. @itunes530 These don’t… but you are correct, some do. if you want flightless, makesure the ones you buy are ‘flightless’ 🙂

  4. @smamouthbassrigs ‘Sallies'”? Not sure what that is… but you can use fruit flies for any insect eating animals that is of small small enough size.

  5. @MultiSoccerMan You probably could technically do this, but I would suggest ordering some flightless fruit flies online if you can’t find them locally and breeding them yourself indoors. If you do get the maggots, like if they laid their eggs/maggots in a peice of fruit, or something, you could then take that, and let the maggots hatch into flies(in like a tupperware), then feed them. I would feed the flies, not the maggots, but either would be ok… mealworms/superworms are maggots.

  6. I have anoles, do you think I could attract fruit flies from outside (the winged ones) and make them lay the maggots. My pet store doesnt sell flightless fruitflies so I was wondering if the maggots can be eaten. They look pretty nasty though XD

  7. Don’t know if it could get me more… my cup is now swarming… heh 🙂 Yes, I know you can make home made recipes, I choose ‘store bought’ because the cost is almost equal, and home made ones are a lot more likely to mold.

  8. $10 a bag! You’re getting jipped. I have a recipe you can use (I’ve been using it for a couple months and have way to many fruit flies haha), that costs about the same, but gets you way more. It’s 1 part white sugar, 2 parts powder milk, 4 parts instant mashed potato, mix in equal parts water. I add just about 5 granules of yeast to each 32 oz culture. The 32 oz cup is filled 1/4-1/3 of the way with culture. I use cardboard as their climbing surface. It’ll save you even more money!

  9. Fruit flies do have wings, but a few of the species, although they have wings, are flightless and cannot fly. I have those type that cannot fly. The flightless type are the ones that are sold as pet/reptile food. Just make sure you see ‘flightless’ on the container when you purchase.

  10. this may sound dumb but do these have wings? cuz i am thinking about doing your rankings dragon idea for my leo gecko.. but if it has wings ill die if they fly around in my room.

  11. ok thanks im from england so i dont use dollars but live food is cheap over here, thanks for the help mate 🙂

  12. I always seen fruit flies at petco I was gonna get some but I was afraid that some would get lost and I would have them flying around and t lookslike they are easy to breed…lol

  13. 🙂 Also, if you need to know where from, message me… but you should buy your insects online(once you need crickets). Once the dragons grow, they will easily eat 24 crickets a peice a day. Plus lettice and other foods they need. Other insects, etc. Crickets in the store cost like $20 for 150 crickets – whereas, online, you can get 1000 crickets for $20(And this price includes shipping – $20 total for 1000 crickets)… Keep them in a tub, and they can last for a good month with food & water

  14. @earthling1984 thanks i do have the 30g at home. so i will stick with that and get my parents to to a 40 – 50 breeder in a year or so for christmas lol.

  15. Probably up to a year if they are truely babies when you get them. I have had my dragons a few months, the male is getting large, but the female is still small – so it also depends how fast they grow. a 40 or 55 gallon would be good for 2 dragons for their whole life, you may want to just start with that, but if you have a 30gallon sitting around at home, it will last a good while.
