  3. can i keep a female betta and a male betta in a 5 gallon tank? would they reproduce? how many baby betta can they have?

  4. ……this video sucks!
step 1 get ALL your gravel out
step 2 tape black sheets of paper all over your tank except for 1 side
step 3 USE A SPONGE FILTER!
STEP 4 let the bettas peacfully mate

  5. You can’t seriously have enough tanks so keep 10 – 20 males seperate so how could you do it?

  6. @XxKittyxXxCatxX Only males fight that I seen. I had many females with one male no issues!

  7. @ryswe Why you think they call them fighter fish and keep ’em seperate at the pet store lol

  8. This is crap, this is a bad video of how to breed betta fish, he can’t even say betta right. I hope not all americans are as silly as this. You need to do alot more to prevent the bettas killing each other and encourage less aggression. Stick two in there and one will most likely kill or injure the other. Bloody idiot…

  9. hi i have 2 bettas one boy and one girl i never put them together to spawn but thier bowl are close together the female is a bit chubby a has a little white thing under her stomach does that mean shes pregnant

  10. @dylanboats9 It’s Bet-ta. I have bred and shown these fish for years. I am a member of the IBC (International Betta Congress) that governs beta standards. The standard pronunciation is Bet-ta.I am not sure where you are located, it may be normal for your area. However, officially bay-ta is the the second letter of the Greek alphabet, a testing stage for software and other prototypes, NOT the way to pronounce betta.

  11. @killkayla Hi there. First off, you should not have a filter going. If you do, it should be a sponge filter that only bubbles a few times a second. Dividers don’t work too well in a breeding tank.
You need to research before you breed. Try this article (replace the (dot) with a . )
    aquarticles(dot)com/articles/breeding/kick_beta-breeding.html
And google ‘betta breeding tank setup’. lot’s of good info out there.
Good luck and have fun! 🙂

  14. I have a 10 gal filter on a 5 gal tank and lots of plants for the female to hide in, I put a screed divider between my male and female for about 1 week. They are still divided but he is not making a bubble nest. they definitely see each other because if she swims toward the screen he will show off in a non-aggressive way. what am i doing wrong? I am wondering if there is to much current from the filter or if the water is to cold (its just room temp)
    can you help me?
