@Yaseo0 Nevermind, ignore the other guide unless you have the Japanese version. The rank increases your chances, so rank B would be a good place to start, if you have time to waste. rank C might be fine too, i think mine had been rank B.
@lilguy1171 #1: No, their stats affect their performance in a race. you need to actually win races to increase your chocobo’s rank. #2: I’m pretty sure average isn’t a good chocobo. if you mean for the first chocobo i caught in the video, it can also be a great one. #3: I think they dont need to be a high rank. Just keep trying with your game saved before you breed them and eventually, if you followed the guide right (or click the link to the guide at the beginning) it should come out right.
@Yaseo0 list of other questions: #1 in the video you bought the sylkin (sorry if i spelled it wrong) greens to max out the chocobos stats is that the same as entering them in a race? explain. #2 i keep getting average male chocobos is that a good (walking) chocobo? #3 what classes do they need to be in order to produce a mountain chocobo?
@lilguy1171 You can enter chocobo races at the Golden Saucer. If you haven’t reached it through the story yet, you cant race chocobos yet :/ as for the ranks, pretty much. but i’d go with what the guides say just to be sure you dont need to have a chocobo at an exact rank (not necessarily my guide)
@Yaseo0 o.k and how do you enter your chocobo in the race and how do you play it? oh and the higher the ranks for both male and female the higher possibility for a mountain chocobo?

Yes. for those higher ranks, anyway. but just to be safe, be exact with the ranks.

Dude i breeded my class S male with a class c female…both maxed out….it made a river chocobo and now i maxed out the one i just cought that was a good male and when i tried to mate them..he said i couldnt and i have played it for 3hours in one day to try and see if the time would pass so that the chocobos can breed…help me out?

you have to have the chocobo lure equipped to run into chocobos on the tracks. just run around in them with it equipped on one of your party members.
at the tracks close to gold saucer area but i dont see any chocobos,what do i do?

i only find ‘pretty average’ chocobos in that spot, and i have a mastered lure, a 3 star, and another master.
Yeah you should rank them up to at least B or A (or S) for the best results.
I’ve played the game twice and doing it like i did in the video worked fine both times. Your choice though (you can try both if you have the patience).
