All wrong! That bedding is HORRIBLE for rats. And you can sex them right after birth. Seriously, you have no fucking clue what you’re talking about. I got a rat from a pet store and she turned out to be pregnant. I was inexperienced seeing as how she was my second rat and my first one was a boy, but I did my research and I took care of them properly! They all grew up to be very healthy albino rats =]
why breed wen there are sooo many homeless rats in pet shelters…

No, not at “That point”, Female rats can get pregnant 36 hours or so after giving birth, how you can call yourself an expert is beyond me, and i wish to shoot you in the skull with a rifle loaded with nails, you cunt.

@strangeling354 Im fourteen too and i agree with you, this is total rubbish, I’ve had rats since I was eleven and even though I’ve never bred rats I’ve done enough over all research to know that this info is completely wrong! I hope no one takes this ‘experts’ advice or they’ll have about fifty inbred babies on their hands!

I’ve had multiple rats and i’ve never had one live under 5 years 8 years was the longest i take it that that is unusual
why is it that all the “rat experts” know nothing about rats? it’s not just her, even the Manufacturers of rat food, cages and toys seem to either not know a thing about rats, or just dont care. i’m a 14 year old and even I can tell that half of this is complete rubbish. jeasus, do some research.

By the way, the title is wrong, it’s supposed to say: “How To Not Breed Pet Rats”…
This is crazy! There are SO many things wrong with this video!
One, You don’t need to let the dad be in the cage with the babies!!
Two, the mom and dad don’t need to be near each other while she already has babies as breeding can happen at the blink of an eye!
Three, Rats eyes open way before six weeks.
Four, “Momma” needs a break after her last pregnancy not get pregnant right after the other litter is weaned!
The list could go on and on!
If you know what to look for you CAN sex rats almost right from birth. Rats can also get pregnant the very day they give birth. Babies are weaned about 3 weeks not six. But it’s good to keep babies with momma as long as possible. Seriously if you want to have a litter search out rescues for pregnant mommas then you aren’t adding to the overwhelming population of rats needing homes.
Can you feed rhe momma and the baby instant apples and cinnamon oatmeal?Oh and can the babies and the momma be together with another female who is not pregnant?
