Location in Tien Giang Province of the Mekong Data, the largest rice basket of Vietnam, Viet Hung Co., Ltd has many advantages endowed by Nature: “favorable weather, promotious soils and united people”.
But this isn’t enough, Viet Hung has built up a productive capacity to rapidly provide quality rice in exact amounts for exports since the day it was fist established in 1992. With this motto, Viet Hung Co., Ltd always focuses on acquiring supplies of rice from all over the Data in Tien Giang, Vinh Long, An Giang, Soc Trang Provinces. At the same time, it has built up capacities of husking and processing , transporting and storing rice the export. With these oriented and tenacious efforts, Viet Hung Co., Ltd. has gradually become to top provider of export rice in recent years, In 2004 alone, It exported 70,000 metric tons of rice in the first sevent rice months of 2005, 42,000 tns out of year’s plan of 72,000 tons according to export contracts alreadly signed. The turnover from rice export keeps mounting, from VND 210 billion (US $ 13,2 million) in 2004 to the expected VND 250 billion (US $15.7 million) in 2005 as this turnover has been VND 150 million in the first seven months.
Today, Viet Hung Co. Ltd has to rice husking factories of 300 tons/day capacity; four paddy barges with combined capacity of 2,00 tons, and 10,000-sq.m. warehouse and storing space. By this year’s end, these storing facilities will be upgraded to 12,000sq.m. Until recently, the exported rice has been of 25%, 15%,10% and 5% broken types but in 2005, Viet Hung Co., Ltd export mainly the 5% broken rice and some of the 25% and 15% broken types. Moreover, Viet Hung Co., Ltd can guarantee sizeable amounts 5% – 10% broken rice for export. Aside from exporting rice, Viet Hung Co., Ltd also provides services such as transport and lease of warehousing space (6,000sq.m.). The company also provides rice on the domestic market, in HCM City and many southern provinces.
