NEW DELHI: The Empowered Group of Ministers ( EGoM), is expected to meet next week to consider a proposal on lifting a export ban on wheat, announced by Mr Anand Sharma, the Commerce and Industry Minister.
Moreover, the group of minsters may also consider a proposal to allow shipments of additional quantity of non-basmati rice.
On the sidelines of a CII conference, the minister, said, “These are some proposals. The EGoM will consider it. The Food and Consumer Affairs Minister, Mr K V Thomas and I have discussed it two days ago. The recommendations which we feel are appropriate are being sent to the EGoM. The EGoM will consider it.”
