Ukraine: Khlib InvestBud Ltd. intends to increase grain exports to 5 mln tonnes

images (1) In 2011/12 MY the company Khlib InvestBud Ltd. plans to increase exports of grains by 300% – up to 5 mln tonnes, due to the increase of grain production volumes in the country and number of customers, and despite competition from Russia after cancellation of the export embargo, said Robert Brovdi, General Director of Khlib InvestBud Ltd.

As a reminder, last season the company received more than 20% of export quotas and exported 1.2 mln tonnes of grains from Ukraine.

According to R.Brovdi, in the current season Ukraine will export mainly feed grains, which is caused by unfavorable weather conditions in the country, which affected qualitative indices of grains.

The General Director of the company noted that feed wheat will possibly form 60-65% of the general wheat production in 2011

R.Brovdi also believes that in the current season Ukraine will face serious competition from Russia on the grain market. The rivalry already led to reduction of grain exports from Ukraine in July 2011 by 81% – to 334 thsd tonnes against 1.78 mln tonnes in June. According to experts, in the future Russia will only increase export sales.

Russia will continue exporting grains without interruption until the end of the current season. They will use their export capacities by 100%, said R.Brovdi.
