Meat trade pair to reach new heights

images (3)  TWO stalwarts of the Scottish meat trade will mark their combined 100 years’ service to the sector on Tuesday by climbing Ben Nevis.

Elgin butcher Jim Royan and former Meat and Livestock Commission Scottish manager Alistair Donaldson will be scaling the 4,409ft peak to raise cash for the RSABI and Farms for Children, which is being supported by the Worshipful Company of Butchers, one of the oldest of London’s livery companies.

RSABI is the former Scottish agricultural benevolent institution and the sole organisation dedicated to supporting those in the farming and forestry sectors who fall on hard times. The Princess Royal has chosen the Farms for Children charity in her role as patron of the butchers.
