PIERRE, S.D. (AP) The Agriculture Department says warm weather is helping South Dakota crops develop.
In its weekly report on crops and weather, the agency says three-quarters of South Dakota’s Corn crop is in good or excellent condition, while 70 percent of the Soybeans are in good to excellent shape.
But the hot weather has caused crops to show some distress, particularly in dry areas in extreme southeastern South Dakota.
About 85 percent of South Dakota’s cattle and sheep are in good to excellent condition, but some are showing stress from hot temperatures.
