Kentuckiana Dairy Exchanges comes to Fort Wayne

tải xuống (8) The Indiana Professional Dairy Producers, Purdue Extension and University of Kentucky Extension are coming together to put on the fourth Kentuckiana Dairy Exchange.  LunAnn Troxel, President of the Indiana Professional Dairy Producers says the two-day event is a great opportunity for anyone interested in the dairy industry.  She says the two-day event features tours at multiple dairy operations in the Fort Wayne, IN area.

August 2nd attendees will visit:  Four Leaf Clover Dairy, a 1700-Holstein dairy farm with a free-stall barn, Blessing Farms, a registered brown Swiss dairy farm and Kuehnert Dairy, a purebred Holstein operation, includes robotic feed pusher demonstration.  Following the tour they will head back to the Don Hall Guest House for dinner and educational presentations by the Kentucky Extension services and a trade show.  The second day will include stops at Oneeda Dairy, a high-production Holstein farm, Beer Dairy, which features an 800-cow, cross-ventilated, free-stall barn and Schaum Heifer Operation, a custom heifer production and forage business. Ribeye Steak Sandwich Lunch and a demonstration of robotic milking systems will follow.

The two-day tour runs August 2 and 3 in Fort Wayne, IN.  Troxel says it’s a great opportunity to view different management and production types.  The cost for member is $25 and non-members $45.  Registration does not include hotel accomidations.
