The Can Tho Municipal People’s Committee has summoned its subordinate agencies to discuss the plan to build the second agricultural hi-tech zone.
Under its master plan on agricultural development, Can Tho will build 3 agricultural hi-tech zones with a total investment of VND 3,100 billion. Earlier, the City has entered into the construction of the first one.
The second agricultural hi-tech zone will occupy 240 ha with a breeding centre in Thoi Lai District and institutes, universities and agricultural businesses around to research and apply high technologies to improve the production of plants and animals.
The centre is also responsible to train new techniques, transfer new technologies and promote new products.
According to reports, the hi-tech zone will play an important role in researching and transferring new technologies as well as supplying high-quality seeds and breeds for farmers in the Mekong Delta.
