The Hanoitimes – The nation’s total export turnover of agricultural, forest and fishery products reached nearly US$3.6 billion in the first two months of this year, an increase of 50.7% against the same period last year, according to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development.
The export value of most agricultural, forest and aquatic products rose because of higher export prices, particularly for coffee, rubber, tea, cashew nuts and pepper.
The export of key agricultural products attained US$2 billion, up 57.5% against the same period in 2010, while the aquatic and forestry products went up by 54.4% and 18.6% respectively.
In the first two months of 2011, Vietnam exported 1.1 million tonnes of rice with a turnover of US$592 million, up 55.6% in volume and 44.5% in value compared to the same period last year.
The export value of major products including coffee, tea, pepper, cashew nuts and wood also increased by 40.4%; 34.3%; 23.4%; 55.2% and 17.6% respectively.
