AFASCO – AFA JOINT STOCK COMPANY OF IMPORTING AND EXPORTING AQUA – PRODUCTS

The fishery in Vietnam, especially in An Giang is a cradle of Pangasius Bocourti and Hypophthalmus and rapidly developing with more and more farmers and better and better quality. In An Giang there are over 13,000 family farmers producing more than 50 percent of the total yield of Mekong Delta and the processing capacity is also growing fast. About 200,000 tons of fish would be used in processing plants in 2005
In line with the great number of farmers, services such as : hatchery, medicines, feed and raw materials for feed have grown.
With wishes of farmers, supports and encourages of the People”s Committee and helps from the local Departments and Services, the An Giang Fishery Association (AFA) has campaigned to establish AFA Joint Stock Company of Importing and Exporting Aqua – Products (AFASCO) with VND20 billion investment of farmer-shareholders.
AFASCO, a company of fish farmers, with more than 30,000 tons of fish a year, keeps its qualitative products available for domestic and foreign markets. Having most modern equipment and frequently inspecting the production lines as its Motto " Top Quality", AFASCO always protects its consummers.
With 1,500 workers, AFASCO is able to process 75 tons of fish a day. Located on 42,654 square meters, it is on the way of construction, according to the plan of fish processing from 200 to 250 tons a day.
