How to Save a Neglected Hoya Plant

tải xuống (1)

Hoya plants are tropical plants from eastern Asia and Australia. They form large vines with thick, dark green leaves. They are popular because of their ability to adapt to almost any environment. Since they require very little maintenance, even neglected hoyas can be nursed back to health. If you have a neglected hoya, bring it back to life with a couple of easy steps.

Difficulty:
Easy

Instructions

things you’ll need:
  • Watering can
  • Water

Instructions

    1. Make sure the hoya has the soil it needs; sandy, loose soil is best for these hardy plants.
    2. Water the plant thoroughly. During the summer, hoya plants should be kept consistently moist. During the winter, water the plant twice a week to allow for some drying between waterings.
    3. Place the hoya in a window that faces east or west, so the plant receives direct sunlight. Too little light will keep the plant from growing or flowering.

Tips & Warnings

  • Hoyas that have been starved for water will have rounded leaves. When you water the plant, the leaves will unroll.

  • Putting hoyas in a south-facing location will make their leaves yellow.
